Answer:
Reduction - (i) Addition of Hydrogen. (ii) Addition of Electropositive element. (iii) Gain of electrons.
Oxidation - (i) Addition of Oxygen. (ii) Addition of Electronegative element.
(iii) Loss of electrons.
The 3 types of Redox action are:-
(i) Combination Reaction - It is a type of reaction where any two reactants form only one product.
Ex- 2H₂ + O₂ → 2H₂O
(ii) Decomposition Reaction - It is a type of reaction where there is only one reactant and no. of products is either 2 or more than 2.
Ex- CaCO₃ → CaO + Co₂
(iii) Displacement Reaction - It is a chemical change in which a more active element displaces a less active element from its salt solution.
Ex- 2KI + Cl₂ → 2KCl + I₂
