\huge\underline\bold\blue{Respiration:-}

It is a process of living organisms in which energy is obtained by the oxidation of food. Food is oxidised in two ways oxygen may be present or absent.

\large\huge\bold{\underline{\sf{\red{Aerobic \ respiration:-}}}}

  • In higher organisms or to release high amount of energy oxygen is used that is called Aerobic respiration.
  • End product of aerobic respiration is ATP, CO2 and water(H2O).

\large\huge\bold{\underline{\sf{\red{Anaerobic \ respiration:-}}}}

  • Oxidation of food in the absence of oxygen. This is also called Alcoholic fermentation.
  • End product of anaerobic respiration is energy (ATP), Ethanol or may be acitic acid.

\huge\underline\mathrm\pink{Note:-}Glucose is substance for both type of respiration. Conversion of glucose into pyruvic acid is called glycolysis. This path is common for both type of respiration.

\bf\red{Respiration}

It is a process in which the food is oxidised and produced energy along with carbon dioxide.

It takes place inside the cell hence, called respiration.

All cells obtain energy by this process.

\sf\green{Aerobic\:Respiration}

The respiration which takes place in presence of oxygen is called Aerobic respiration.

Here glucose is completely oxidised and formed carbon dioxide, water and energy.

More energy is liberated.

It occurs in the cells of all plants, animals and humans beings.

\sf\green{Anaerobic\:Respiration}

The respiration which takes place in the absence of air is called Anaerobic respiration.

Here glucose is partially broken down.

Less energy is liberated.

It occurs in some anaerobic bacteria, fungi [yeast] etc.
