people work hard to live on the prairies, first they need food and stuff and sec shelter. The people of the prairies had a very tough time, when they first arrived, and settled there. The land was clear and empty, they building their homes, then started to farm. Raising chickens and cows for food, milk and to sell for money. they have a really rought time in a storm or a change in weather. Many lost a lot and gave up, but others continued on. As new technology came along their life was easier, buying more land and developing it. Now there are dairy farms, chicken ranches, feed lots, and huge vegetable farms. There are ones that deal with goats, turkeys, bison, and even some underground

mining, as mineral deposits were discovered when digging wells for water. Remember that many people died tyring to tame the prairies, to give what we have today.

Hope it helps

The Prairies are located in the heart of a continent. Therefore, the climate is of continental type with extreme temperatures. The summers are warm, with temperatures of around 20oC and winters are very cold with temperatures of around -20oC.

You can get this temperature in Winnipeg, Canada. In winters, a thick blanket of snow covers this region. It rains moderately in this region and is ideal for the growth of grass. Due to the absence of the north-south barrier, a local wind ‘Chinook’ blows here.
