The major differences between training and development are as under: Training is a learning process for new employees in which they get to know about the key skills required for the job. ... Training is a short-term process i.e. 3 to 6 months, but development is a continuous process, and so it is for the long term.

Traininig -
● It is taken by trainer (person)
● A trained person can help in development.
● It continues over a long period of time.

Development
● It happens automatically when a good trainer will give emphasise on his work.
● A developed person do not have the duty to develop the trainers.
● It may takes shorter time to develop rather than training time.
