The function \displaystyle\sf{f(x)=|x|} is not differentiable at \displaystyle\sf{x=0} as the function has a sharp edge or vertex at this point.

Hence the derivative of \displaystyle\sf{y=|x|} doesn't exist and so is the derivative of \displaystyle\sf{y=x\cdot|x|}
