Tropical Evergreen and deciduous forests

1. Tropical Evergreen:

  • They are found in Western ghats, and island groups of lakshadweep and Andaman and nicobar, upper part of Assam and Tamil Nadu coast.
  • Trees reach a height of 60 metres.
  • all kinds of vegetation trees shrubs and creepers.
  • some example of trees the are mahagani, rosewood ,rubber
  • somesome common animals found in this forest forest are elephants ,rhinoceros monkey ,deer, plenty of birds ,sloths, bats scorpions.

2. Tropical Deciduous

  • they are also called monsoon forest
  • this spread over the region and receive rainfall between 200 and 70 cm.
  • the trees in the forest shed their leaves for 6 to 8 weeks.
  • they are found in North Eastern states, along the foothills of Himalayas, jharkhand Orissa ,chhattisgarh and on the eastern slopes of the Western ghats.
  • teak ,sal ,peepal , neem are some trees that grow.
