The mixtures having uniform composition throughout and indistinguishable boundaries of separation are called homogeneous mixtures. The mixtures having a non uniform composition throughout and distinguishable boundaries are called heterogeneous mixtures

Sometimes the constituents are uniformly spread over the mixture and each part of the mixture has the same properties. Such a mixture is called homogeneous mixture.

Sometimes the constituents are not evenly spread throughout the mixture and each part of the mixture does not have same properties. Such a mixture is called heterogeneous mixture.
