The difference in the dressing styles of Kerala and Himachal Pradesh are:-

  • The difference in the dressing styles of any two places is largely influenced by their difference in climatic conditions.
  • Himachal is a very cold place due to lying in the foothills of the Himalayas. Hence the clothes worn by people in Himachal Pradesh are warm and made up of warm materials to protect the entire body from cold.
  • In Himachal dresses like pyjamas, kurtas and shawls are used widely and long silk overcoats are also used to protect the entire body from cold.
  • In Kerela, the climate is very mild and humid due to its shoreline. Hence people in Kerela prefer loose-fitting clothes made of cotton as cotton absorbs sweat easily and hence loose-fitting Melmundu and lungi are preferred by men and women prefer Saare and Mundum Neriyathum.
