torrid zone - this area lies between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn the sun rays fall vertically on the latitudes on this zone at least once in a year it receives the maximum heat this is the reason that is the hottest aera.
frigid zone - this area lies between the arctic circle and north pole in the Northern hemisphere and between the Antarctic circle and the south pole in the southern hemisphere the sunrays are very slanting in this zone due to which it is the coolest part of the earth
