additive inverse means changing signs eg wrte the additive inverse of -5 answer: 5

difference of any number and it's additive inverse is equal to 2(that number)...

Ex: let a/b be any rational number then -a/b is it's additive inverse...

then,difference of that numbers is

a/b-(-a/b)=2(a/b)

sum of a/b and-a/b=

a/b-a/b=0
