Agriculture, by definition is use of land resource.

This can be by growing various crops. Say, cereals+pulses, cereals+oilseeds, in fruit orchards having inter plant/tree space used for growing fodders/legumes/shade loving cut flower plants/bee hives/pot culture for sale, running a dairy farm to use easy availability of year round fodders, a poultry farm to use easy availability of grains(cereal+pulses), etc. These combinations by and large are termed as mixed farming. THIS IS A SYSTEM TO SUSTAIN.

Integrated Farming, requires broader planning. Where one resource generated from part of the total farm land is raw material for other process. Like, having a dairy farm, should have a continuous supply of fodder and oil cake, so such crops are grown and oil mill is available to make available the oilcake and rest oil is sold. The byproducts, like urine and dung is not drained out into local sewerage system BUT stored in biodegradable chambers to generate gas and slurry is back used as manure. The gas so generated at farm is available for processing the raw milk, to make high cost milk products. THIS IS A SYSTEM TO GENERATE MAXIMUM PROFIT OUT OF A GIVEN RESOURCE OF LAND AND CAPITAL.

when we grown different types of crops in same field same time then it is said to be mixed farming but when we rear animals for our use and to be yearn money by selling milk then it is said to be dairy farming
