Art critics might have a different take, but my take is:
1) Impressionism is still representational, but with more focus on light and shadow and the effects on objects in different lighting.
2) Expressionism isn’t representational. It can be raw or meticulous, but it doesn’t look like real objects in real space. It’s about ideas and feelings.
3) Cubism is extrapolated from reality, but it’s meant to show motion and/or depth in different ways than western culture and cartoons/animations depict them.
All of these forms are abstracted from reality, but they are not reality itself. Surprise!

Impressionism is a 19th century artistic movement that swept much of the painting and sculpture styles of the period. ... Expressionism is an artistic style in which the artist seeks to depict not objective reality but rather the subjective emotions and responses that objects and events arouse within a person.
