☆ VITAMIN :
》》 Vitamins are a group of organic nutrients, required in small quantities for a variety of biochemical functions that generally cannot be produced by the body and must , therefore be supplied in the diet.
☆Vitamins are classified on the basis of SOLUBILITY.
☆ Vitamins are classified into two categories :-
● Lipid soluble vitamins
⊙Vitamin A
⊙Vitamin D
⊙Vitamin E
⊙Vitamin K
● Water soluble vitamins
⊙Vitamin B1
⊙Vitamin B2
⊙Vitamin B3
⊙ Vitamin B5
⊙ Vitamin B6
⊙Vitamin B7
⊙ vitamin B9
⊙ Vitamin B12
⊙Vitamin C
●All B vitamins are known together as B complex .
☆VITAMIN A :-
》》Vitamin A is important for good vision, strong immunity, reproductive health and cell growth .
☆ VITAMIN D :-
》》The main function of vitamin D is to regulate blood levels of calcium and phosphorous .
☆VITAMIN E :-
》》 The tocopherols and the tocotrienols ( 2 families compounds ) are named vitamin E . It is essential for normal reproduction, Hence is known as an anti-sterility vitamin .
☆VITAMIN E :-
》》 It is very important for the formation of blood clots.
》》Vitamin K acts as a co -enzyme for the carboxylation of glutamic acid residues present in the proteins .
☆VITAMIN B1 :-

》》Function of vitamin B1 is synthesis of myelin sheath which plays an important role in the transmission of nerve impulse thus B1 is essential for nervous system functioning.
☆VITAMIN B2 :-
》》Vitamin B2 is also known as Riboflavin. It is involved in energy production in the body.
》》It produces energy by carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
》》It is important for skin .
☆ VITAMIN B3 :-
》》Niacin(vitamin B3 ) inhibits lipolysis in the adipose tissue and decreases the circulatory free fatty acids .
☆VITAMIN B6 :-
》》It is important for synthesis of proteins , hemoglobin , neurotransmitters and myelin sheath around the nerves .
