Amoeba engulfs tiny particles of food with the help of its false feet called Pseudopodia.
This process is called circumvallation. The Pseudopodia close to form a small cavity called food vacuole. Here the enzymes help the breakdown of food into simpler and soluble molecules.
This then get absorbed and assimilated and residue is thrown out through the contractile vacuole, as Amoeba has no anus. so it can excrete from any part .

Question :- Explain digestion in amoeba
Answer:-
Amoeba is a microscopic unicellular organism. It is found in pond water. It has one or more finger like projections called pseudopodia or false feet for movement
and capture of food.
Amoeba feeds on some microscopic organisms when it senses food, it pushes around the food particle and engulfs it. The food becomes trapped in a food vacuole. Digestive juices are secreted into the food vacuole. They act on food and break it down into simpler substances. Gradually digested food is absorbed. The absorbed substances are used for growth maintenance and multiplication. The undigested food is being is expelled outside by the vacuole.
