The carbohydrates are partially digested in the mouth itself throuh the action of the enzyme salivary amylase or ptyalin. And the rest of the digestion of carbohydrates takes place in the small intestine when the pancreatic enzymes like trypsin,steapsin,amylopsin acts upon the chyme and then the alkaline chyle.
