Dilute HCl acid reacts with magnesium liberating hydrogen,

but the same is not liberated when the acid is reacted with

copper. why​

mg+ HCl = MgCl2 +H2

when we observe reactivity series.. then we can observe that.. Magnesium is more reactive then hydrogen and hence it can displace hydrogen from its compound.. but Copper is less reactive then hydrogen and it is unable to displace hydrogen....
