Dimensions of physical quantity

It is the system in which all the systems of units, the derived units of all the physical quantities can be expressed in the term of fundamental units of mass, length and time. raised to some power. the powers to which fundamental units is raised in order which express physical quantity, are known as its dimensions. To make this clear.

  • Now, we consider a physical quantity

Density.

Density :- mass per unit volume is known as density.

Hence,

density = mass /volume

= M/L³ = [M¹L^-3T]

This expression show that dimensions of density are 1 in mass, -3 in length and 0 in time.
