Dimensions of pressure are

L^-1 M^1 T^-2

mamatha86: i want to know it by process applying pressure formula
suts: pressure = force / area
suts: dimensions of force are L1 M1 T-2
suts: Dimensions of area are L2
suts: hence dimensions of pressure are L-1 M1 T-2

The S.I unit  of pressure = Pascal (Pa)

Also we know Pressure = Force/Area

S.I unit of force =  Newton (N) and the basic units of N = kg m/s²

S.I unit of area = m²

Hence we can write the unit of pressure P = kg m/(m²s²) ------(A)

Now dimension of kg = M

dimension of meter (m) = L and

dimension of time (t) = T

Hence A can be written as

M L T⁻² L⁻²

Thus the dimension of unit of pressure (Pa) = M L⁻¹ T⁻²
