Answer:

The cost price of motorcycle is Rs.42000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Dinesh sold his motorcycle to Navin at a loss of 28%. Navin spent ₹1680 on its repairs and sold the motor cycle to Saran for ₹35,910 thereby making a profit of 12.5%.

To find : The cost if motorcycle for Dinesh.

Solution :

Let CP of Dinesh motorcycle = Rs x

Loss - 28%

SP of Dinesh motorcycle is

SP=\frac{100-L\%}{100} x

SP=\frac{100-28}{100} x

SP=\frac{72}{100} x = 0.72 x

CP of saran motorcycle including the cost of repairs = 0.72x + 1680

SP of saran motor = Rs 35910

Profit Percentage = 12.5%

\frac{[(35910) - (0.72x + 1680)]\times 100}{0.72x + 1680}= 12.5

\frac{3423 - 0.72x}{0.72x + 1680}= \frac{125}{100}

3423000 - 72x = 9x + 21000

3423000 - 21000 = 9x + 72x

3402000 = 81x

x = 42000

Therefore, The cost price of motorcycle is Rs.42000.
