The bond dipole moment uses the idea of electric dipole moment to measure the polarity of a chemical bond within a molecule. It occurs whenever there is a separation of positive and negative charges. The bond dipole μ is given by:
{\displaystyle \mu =\delta \,d}.
{\displaystyle \mu =\delta \,d}.

This is kinda of a funny answer but this is true.
in physics point of view, the dipole moment Directs from negative charge to positive charge.
in case of chemistry dipole moment Directs from positive charge to negative charge .
I think this is not convincing enough but this is the truth.
