In a direct variation, as one number increases, so does the other. This is also called direct proportion or direct variation.

For example,

We express direct variation by using the equation y = kx or k = x/y.

In an inverse variation, it's exactly the opposite: as one number increases, the other decreases. And vice versa.

We express direct variation by using the equation y = k/x or k =xy.

I have attached some examples of direct and inverse variation.

Hope this helps! Please don't forget to mark as Brainliest!
