DIRECTION: (Question No. 36 to 40) Study the following
information to answer the given questions
The members of a bank are Mr. Arora, Mr. Bharadwaj.
Mrs. Chauhan, Miss Dutta, Mr. Eknath and Miss Pal. The
positions they occupy are manager, assistant manager, cashier,
stenographer, teller and clerk, though not necessarily in that
order. The assistant manager is the manager's grandson. The
cashier is the stenographer's son-in-law. Mr. Arora is a
bachelor. Mr. Bharadwaj is 22 years old, Miss Dutta is the
teller's step-sister and Mr. Eknath is the manager's neighbor.
Mr. Bharadwaj cannot have a grandson or son-in-law as he is
only 22 years old​

1. Manager - Mrs. Chauhan

  • Married- as he/she has a grandson as assistant manager.
  • Therefore, Miss P, Miss D and Mr. A ruled out.
  • Mr. B is 22 - no grandson therefore, ruled out.
  • Mr. E is neighbor of manager therefore, ruled out.
  • Mrs. C is the manager.

2. Stenographer- Mr. Eknath

  • Stenographer's son- in - law is cashier therefore, stenographer should be married
  • Therefore, Miss P, Miss D and Mr. A ruled out.
  • Mr. B is 22 - no grandson therefore, ruled out.
  • Mrs. C is manager
  • Hence, Mr. E is stenographer

3. Cashier - Mr Bharadwaj

  • Son-in-law of stenographer, therefore he should be male.
  • Therefore, Miss P, Miss D ruled out.
  • Mr. E, Mrs C also ruled out.
  • Mr A is bachelor therefore ruled out.
  • Hence, Mr B is cashier.

4. Assistant Manager- Mr. Arora

  • Since, assistant manager is a grandson of manager , therefore male.
  • Therefore, Miss P, Miss D ruled out.
  • Therefore, Mr A is Assistant manager.

5. Clerk - Miss Dutta

  • Miss Dutta is teller's step sister so she cannot be teller
  • Hence, Miss D is Clerk

6. Teller - Miss Pal
