. it is counsellor- centered approach: the counsellor direct the client to take steps in order to resolve conflicts

. it gives more impotance to intellectual aspect than emotional aspect

Non- directive - . it also known as permissive counselling

. this school of thought is just reverse to that of Directive counselling

. it is client-centered process
