Directive planning is pursued under capitalist economy.

What is planning ?

Planning is a process in which particular goals and aims are decided and policies are made to achieve those goals and aims in such a way that all the resources are completely utilised in an effective manner.

There are two types of planning :-

  • Directive planning .

  • Comprehensive planning .

Directive planning :-

The planning which is pursued only to direct the forces of supply and demand in the market .

  • It is used in economy is like capitalist economy.

  • The role of government is only to ensure rule and regulations. It is not involved in the process of production.

  • Production with the aim of profit maximization is allowed .

  • State does not directly interfere in the working of market.
