• Moving abroad can be very unsettling.
• Many things will be very different from your home country.
• Buying simple things can be a real challenge.

• You will always experience some kind of ‘culture shock’.

• It can put a lot of pressure on your relationship.
• You and your children may lose their sense of ‘home’.
• You may find that you no longer understand 'home' all and sometimes you may not want to go back.
• Living there may be really expensive.
• You will have to know the basics of the language of the country you go to or be very self-willed to learn.
• The feeling of not belonging was very difficult, especially as a teenager desperate to fit in.
• The concept of packing up and making a new place feel like home can be very isolating and tiring.
• Fear of commitment.
