The main disadvantages are:
* They usually cannot deliver the same quality of care as more expensive private facilities.
* They often have far more patients to handle and much longer wait times.
* Also, as they are free, they sometimes encourage people to visit them for conditions that could have been treated by a GP, which can put extra pressure on the system and clog the hospital with non-emergency issues, which makes it harder to deal with real emergencies.
* They are also costly for the government to run.
Public hospitals or govt.hospitals have lot of doctors,normally from Reserved category
who are not that brilliant,pass the MBBS course with great difficulty and unfortunately
can not treat the poor patients in a better way,mess resulting out of political wickedness
which allows less competent to supersede more competent just on the basis of caste
or community.
The above is main disadvantage of public/govt.hospitals but these must exist as it benefits
general society,its quality must be improved.
