Solutions :-

Given :

Discount = 25%
Profit = 50%

Let the M.P be Rs 100

Find the S.P :-

S.P = M.P - discount% of M.P
= 100 - 25% of 100
= 100 - 0.25 × 100
= 100 - 25
= 75

So, S.P = Rs 75

Find the C.P :-

C.P = S.P - Profit% of S.P
= 75 - 50% of 75
= 75 - 0.5 × 75
= 75 - 37.5
= 37.5

Now,

Find the ratio of C.P to M.P :-

 \frac{C.P}{M.P} = \frac{37.5}{100} \\ \\ = \frac{3}{8}

= 3 : 8

Hence,
The ratio of C.P to M.P is 3 : 8

Solutions :-

We have,
Discount = 25%
Profit = 50%

Let the M.P be x

Find the Selling price :-

S.P = M.P - discount% of M.P
= x - 25% of x
= x - 0.25x
= 0.75x

Now,
Find the cost price :-

C.P = S.P - Profit % of S.P
= 0.75x - 50% of 0.75x
= 0.75x - 0.5×0.75x
= 0.75x - 0.375x
= 0.375x

Ratio of the C.P to M.P = C.P/M.P
= 0.375x/x
= 375/1 × 1000
= 375/1000
= 3/8
= 3 : 8

Answer : Ratio of the C.P to M.P = 3 : 8
