classification of physical quantities are :----

  1. dimensionless or non dimensional variable
  • all the quantities which are variable but have no dimension Aqua dimensionless variables .

example specific gravity ,strain and efficiency of machine etc

because they are in ratio of two identical unit.

2. diamensional variable

  • all the valuable quantities which have got some dimensions are called as dimensional variable for example for momentum velocity power force etc .

3. dimensionless or non dimensional constant

  • the constant quantities which have no dimension such as your number 1,2,3 etc are called dimensionless constant .

4. dimensional constant

  • certain quantity is like velocity of light in vacuum and gravitational constant have got a fixed value and also have what certain dimensions are called dimensional constant.

CLASSIFICATION

  1. Scalar quantity: The physical quantities which have only magnitude but no direction are called scalar quantity.
  2. vector quantity:-It is a physical quantity which have both magnitude and direction, and follow the law of vector addition
  3. Fundamental quantity:- Fundamental quantity is a quantity which don't depend on other quantityfir it's measurements
  4. derived quantity:- derived quantity is a quantity which depend on other quantity for their measurements
