yo!

The process of reproduction in which new individuals are formed from a single parent organism without the formation or fusion of gametes is called asexual reproduction.

TYPES OF ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION :

(i) Fission-
Under unfavourable conditions the nucleus of the parent organism divides into two or more nucleus. ( if the parent nucleus is divided into two nucleus it is called binary fission, if more than two nucleus are formed then it is called multiple fission ) This is followed by the division of the cytoplasm so that daughter individuals are formed . Then each cell grows into an adult individual.
It is noticed in amoeba.

(ii) Budding-
This process involves the formation of one or more bud on the parent body. Each bud enlarges and assumes the characteristics of the parent body and then separates itself from the parent body to grow into a new individual.
It is noticed in yeast and hydra.

(iii) Fragmentation -
This is noticed in filamentous type of plants. The filamentous body breaks into one or more fragments accidentally or by softening of the middle lamella between two adjacent cells. Each such fragment by repeated cell division gives rise to a new plant.
It is noticed in spirogyra.

(iv) Spore formation -
Spores are formed inside the special organ sporangium. After liberation from the sporangium each spore germinates into a new plant.
It is noticed in bryoohtya.

(v)Regeneration -
In some animals the body if the organism breaks up into several parts by any means. Each part develops Into a new animal by cell division.
It is noticed in planaria.
