The following are the risk reduction measures in relation with industrial disaster -
1. Densely populated residential areas should be separated far away from the industrial areas.
2. People staying in the vicinity of industries should be aware of the storage of toxins or hazardous substances and their possible effects in case if an accident occurs.
3. Fire warning and fighting system should be improved.
4. Storage capacity of toxic substances should be limited.
5. Pollution dispersion qualities in the industries should be improved.
6. Night shifts of employees.
7. Adequate training to the workers.
Industrial hazards are usually of four types which are caused due to the various methods which are involved in the making of a product.
Disasters can be produced in the industry due to an explosion or the breakout of fire, the release of toxic and harmful chemicals and many more.
The risk can, however, be reduced by following specific measures like creating public awareness, training the employees on time, storing the hazardous elements safely and adequately, proper assessment of the risk factors, issuing the safety audits accurately and, also planning the measures for emergency cases early.
