Our government has prohibited the concept of caste discrimination but not to the caste from the society. Because caste is directly connected with our religious sentiment. As in our constitution there has a provision that separation of religion from state policy. So our government will never do anything which will harsh to the religious sentiment of any religion. Apart from that Indians are still living in conservative society they will not accepted to the law which will eradicate the castism. Even they can come for protest against government. Hence our government is not taking any action against castism. Hence it is still practicing
