Portia is a rich girl of belmot.people love her for her beayty and wealth.she was bounded by a wit given by her dead father . The wit was that she had to marry the person who choosed the right casket from lead silver and gold. She had no option to refuse the person to marry if he choosed the right casket even if she disliked him.in love with bassanio, she allowed the prince of Morocco and aragon to choose the casket.evenctually they both failed.then it was bassainos chance to choose. Even though she truely loved bassanio t she did not break her promise given to her father of telling anyone about the right casket . She allowed bassanio to try his luck at last and he Finally Choosed the right casket.this shows that portia has love for her father as she did not break her late fathers will.on the other hand Jessica shylocks daughter was totally different.she hated her father and hated being a Jew . She was in love with Lorenzo a Christian and bassainos close friend.when shylock went out she robbed all the money and her moms ring and ran away with lorenzo.this shows that she hated her father and didnot care about him
