They are usually 4-6 microampere in diameter and 20 to 40 in number in each cells of higher plants evenly distributed throughout the cytoplasm. Inner membrane enclosed the matrix, the stomata which contain small cylindrical structure called grana. Most cytoplast contain 10 to 100 grana.
