Discuss the apparent weight of a man in a lift when (i) kift is moving upwards with a constant speed (ii) lift is accelerated uniformly downwards .

Answer:

(i) when lift is moving at constant speed then apparent weight is same as actual weight

(ii) when lift is accelerated downward then apparent weight is W-ma

w is weight of man and m is mass and a is the acceleration of lift
