Discuss the causes of exploitation of water?
Answers
Natural resources are the gifts of nature where we have to protect it deliberately. Natural Resources are exploited mainly because of humans. Human beings destroy the natural resources to live a comfortable life. Mostly exploitation of natural resources started developing from 19th centuries. Exploitation of natural resources may cause due to both natural and human-made cause. Some of the reasons are Deforestation, Water pollution, depletion of fossil fuels, Soil erosion, etc. This cause leads to Global warming, effects of climate change, leads to accidents, etc. Our efforts with more care can prevent all these causes.
How does Natural resources are getting exploited?
By different means exploitation of natural resources takes place. Natural resources are land, air, water, minerals, forests, etc. which are gifts of nature for human use. Means of water pollution, air pollution, global warming, melting of glaciers, environmental pollution, overpopulation, etc. exploit the resources in a significant way. Increase in population worsens land, water, and fuels. It also causes demands in things, food, shelter, etc. We can discuss some of the ways where exploitation of natural resources takes place.
Soil Erosion:
Soil erosion occurs naturally which affects the landforms. In soil erosion the topsoil erodes and when erosion takes places in a repeated way the soil loses its fertility and strength. Later, many reasons cause where it is difficult for agriculture, keeping trees, water becomes less in that area.

Overexploitation of fresh water resources has resulted in many serious problems which directly affect the present and future need of the people. Some of the consequences are:1. Lowering of water Table:
With the increasing population and demand for dry land area is also increased. There is large exploitation of underground water due to which water table is lowering down day after day. This problem can become major threat for future agriculture because of reduced water supply in future.

One of the consequences of excessive irrigation in certain areas is that it can raise the water table. Salts which are found in rocks when come in contact with these water, it moves up when evaporation takes place in upper soil layer, so it results in salinity in the soil. Excessive irrigation also leads to water logging.

If more ground water is withdrawn then their recharging rate, the sediments in the aquifers get compacted, this phenomena is known as ground subsidence. This sinking could results in huge economic loses like structure damage in high building, fractures in pipes etc.
