Lt x---->(-1). |x|+|x-1|
=|-1|+|-1-1|
=1+2
=3
Now, Lt x------->( 1 ) |x|+|x-1|
=|1|+|1-1|
=1
since Lt x-----> (-1) ≠ Lt x------->(1)
The given expression is not continuous at x=1
