The Nazis brought Germany out of depression using Keynesian fiscal policy (government spending in areas like infrastructure and rearmament that created employment).  Ironcally, Germany under the Nazis was less hamstrung by dying notions of rigid social class than other European countries.  On the other hand, Nazi racial and political purges were very harmful to the German economy.
