In the early historic cities, goods made up of various articles like ornaments, gold, bronze and iron were found. The people in the Harappan cities were not aware of iron as there has been no evidences of iron use. The craftsmen and artisans organised themselves in guilds.

(iii) In early cities ornaments, tools, weapons, vessels, figurines, made of a wide range of materials such as gold, silver, copper, bronze, glass, shell and terracotta were also found. Moreover here we find the usage of iron in abundance.
