Widespread excavation in the early historic towns have not been possible because these towns still have a large population. However , inspite of this fact, several artifacts were found in the early historic towns .

Bowls and dishes of a very fine type of pottery with a glossy finished wete found . This pottery is known as the Northern Black Polished. Thougg some pots were found in the Harappan Civilisation , they didn't had a glossy finish.

In the early historic cities, goods made up of various articles like ornaments , gold, bronze and iron were found. The people in the Harappan Cities were not aware of iron as there has been no evidences of iro use.
