Answer:

The factors affecting climate of Brazil are -

i. The latitudinal extent of Brazil is vast so it experiences wide variety of climate

ii. The equator passes through Northern part of Brazil so most of the part of the country lies in the tropical zone. The temperature remains high in this region throughout the year. The range of temperature is less in this region.

iii. In the Southern part of Brazil temperate type of climate is found. (Tropic of Capricorn)

iv. The climate is cooler in the Highlands

v. Due to the proximity to the sea, the coastal areas experience mild and humid climate

vi. It rains heavily in the Amazon basin (convectional type of rainfall)

vii. The escarpment in the east obstruct the trade winds so it rains heavily (Orographic rainfall) in the coastal region.

viii. A rain shadow region is formed in the North East part of Brazil. This region is called drought quadrilateral.
