Helen begin to think think that she could write a story. She began to write or 'make-up' a story. Words, phrases and images came naturally. She wrote them on her braille slate. When the story was finished she read it to her teacher. At dinner she read her story to her family ans everyone was surprised that she could write so well. She changed the first title Autumn Leaves to The Frost King. Mr Anagnos found the story good and published it in one of the Perkins Institution reports.
But her happiness was dashed to ground soon thereafter.It was discovered that Helen had copied the story from 'The Frost Fairies' by Miss Margaret T. Canby. The two stories were similar. Because of this plagiarism Mr Anagnos thought that Helen wrote this story just to please him. He felt very bad and he suspected Miss Sullivan and that Helen had deliberately stolen the bright thoughts of another and imposed them on him to win his admiration
