discuss the growth of earliest town
Answers
The two main reasons for the growth of a town include :
☆ Construction of temples or any other religious institution :
We say that towns grow whenever a temple is built because , a temple has always been the nucleus of trade , commerce and food source . People belonging to a wide variety of fields were able to blend together to work in an environment that included - perfume makers , Garland makers , flower sellers , priests etc . All these people , all different under the grounds of their profession got an equal chance to work in religious places . The funds that came to the temples were used by the kings as a money source for paying the people who worked in the temples . As the concept of ' Bhakti ' started to become famous many people stared to visit and frequent temples . As many people come to an area that area gradually gets populated with people , which will in turn change the area into a more developed place called as a town .
☆ Good ports and harbours with excellent naval power source :
Such places which would have had good and clean waters with stable shores were desired by many merchants hence making that area a business or trade town . An area became a town when it advances in one or more fields , hence an area used to become a town , when merchants or any group of rich people would frequent it .
These are some of the key reasons for the development of towns .
