Modern Geography is a result of thousands of years of human exploration, exploitation and knowledge.
Geography was studied by some of our earliest ancestors in order to understand the area they live in. People began to understand sand, mud, hilly areas and adopted their life accordingly.
Around 2-3000 BC, people began to dig underneath the ground and eventually discovered several minerals which lead to the development of mining and invention of various metals and alloys.
In the pre-modern Islamic World, the need for trade and to pray towards Makkah required more advanced knowledge of geography, astronomy and time.
Since the earth we live in has given us so much, scientists are still studying geography to improve their understanding
