Gerrard asked the intruder if he was an American as he had told him to "Put Those Paws Up" and even called him a "Wise Guy". As in American expressions they majorly use 'Paws' in the place of 'Hands' and 'Guy' in the place of 'Man'. Hence, after hearing the usage of these words from the Intruder's mouth Gerrard asked him this question.
