1. Income poverty : Income poverty due to the lack of income. This is classified into two types. They are,
a). Extreme poverty : It is the lack of income necessary to satisfy basic food needs.
b). Overall poverty : It is the lack of income necessary to essential non - food needs.
2. Human poverty :
This due to lack of basic human capabilities : illiteracy, malnutrition, abbreviated life span, poor, maternal health, illness from preventable diseases.
3. Multidimensional Nature of Poverty :
This due to deprivation in the most essential capabilities of life, including leading a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable, having adequate economic provisioning and participating fully in the life of the community.
