The mechanism affecting the monsoon is that the westerly jet causes high pressure over northern parts of the subcontinent during the winter. This results in the north-to-south flow of the winds in the form of the northeast monsoon. With the northward shift of the vertical sun, this jet shifts north, too.

Mechanism of Monsoon :

Monsoon is derived from the word "mausim" which means season.

Mausim is an Arabic word.

Well the climate of India is strongly influenced by the Monsoon winds. That's why India is having a Monsoon type of climate.

In this circle the mechanism of Monsoon is in the following way:

The Monsoon winds come from the south west side of the country blow over the country creating rains and reached near the Tibetian plateau where the low pressure area is created. There they cause rain and again start moving and already there is a low pressure area created in the North western And Northern part of country. There they rain and go back to the Arabian Sea . It is a unifying bond and acts like a circle.
