Hot and Dry Deserts vegetation is very rare. Plants are almost all ground-hugging shrubs and short woody trees. All of the leaves are replete (packed with nutrients). Some examples of these kinds of plant are Turpentine Bush, Prickly Pears, and Brittle Bush.

The plants found in cold deserts are grasses, shadscale and camel's thorn. The mostplants are small and deciduous with spiny leaves. This spiny leaves prevent the snow from accumulating on the plants. cold deserts: moss, very small shrubs of blueberries, pine, spruce, etc.
