Answer:

Nature of regionalism in Assam

Explanation:

Looking back at the history of our country, it is obvious that regionalism and its ideology has also managed to gain its roots in Assam to certain extent. In Assam it is certain that regionalism movement has been set with an aim to help change the mindset of the local population.

Even if this is the case, still the state of Assam in itself has not much supported regionalism, as it focuses on restricting the impact of regionalism on the minds of the people.

Politically speaking, Assam is a state where you may only find that three major political parties are considered into existence (AIUDF, BPF and Congress). Apart from this, the Assam legislature has only 1/12 of seats as compared to all other total seats.

Apart from this, it has also been noticed that a number of big movements have been organized in Assam till date. One such movement run by Assam movement has also been considered a big movement and focused on transforming the ideology of the people regarding political issues.

Even if this is the case, still not much of participation from the local people in politics have been seen and even if there are any involvements, still they are completely ignored by already existing parties. In most cases the local voters of the state vote for their preferred leaders simply out of their emotions rather than for any of their expectations.
