Policy adopted for Mongol invasion -
- During the reign of Alauddin Khalji, the invasions of the Mongols were very fierce and this made Alauddin Khalji framed a strong frontier policy
- This aggressive policy made the Mongols afraid of Khalji army as they planned to fight offensively
- New forts were built and armament soldiers were set up
- A permanent army was stationed and placed in the North – West frontier for the defence of the kingdom
Alauddin Khalji policy for Deccan :-
- Alauddin was the first Muslim ruler to send his troops to capture the states in Deccan.
- Malik Kafur was placed in charge of the expeditions of Deccan. The rulers of Warangal, Devagiri, Dwarasamudra and Madurai were attacked and plundered.
- Alauddin allowed the Deccan kings to retain their states but they had to accept the overlordship of the Sultan and send annual tributes to him
