bassanio is Antonios dearest friend. Antonio helps bassanio to get a loan from Shylock, a rich Jew and he signs the bond in his name. he also helps bassanio to win Portia's love. this type of relationship shows that both Antonio and bassanios love are hardly bonded and will never give up to each other.
